The previous post about this “lost game” with the scene between Emily and Crawford was lifted directly from the original scripts. Because the development was cut short, I never had the chance to do a final editing and polishing pass over the whole game. Here is the same scene given the editing treatment. It’s a lot tighter and makes use of the visuals much more.
____________
Crawford appears behind the glass of the observation window and looks at Emily who is still on the operating table.
Crawford: Do what I say or your life won’t be worth living.
Emily stares at Crawford with cold hatred in her eyes. She turns and picks up one of the scalpels from a nearby trolley table then holds it up to catch the light, making sure that Crawford sees it. Crawford touches the glass of the observation window nervously.
Emily: What would happen if I opened up the wound?
Crawford: You wouldn’t…
Emily: Listen up, you bitch. Let us go free if you want these embryos to survive.
Crawford: We’re like sisters now you’re carrying my children. Stay here – we’ll raise them together.
Emily: I don’t want these vile creatures inside of me. I won’t give birth to your monster brood!
Crawford leans forward, her face almost touching the glass of the window. Her eyes fix on Emily and she grins, evilly.
Crawford: So that’s how you see Jacob – a vile creature. A monster!
Emily: I… you’re twisting…
Crawford: He and I are the same. We both have the Innsmouth Taint!
Emily: No…
Then we, and Emily, see that Jacob is standing in the shadows behind Crawford. It’s unclear how long he’s been there, but from the look on his face he’s heard plenty.
