If you like theatre that’s a little more impromptu than usual, why not come along to the next Script Factor evening at the York Theatre Royal on November 15th?
Five writers bring alongfifteen minute scripts and find actors to fit them on the evening. The pieces – either complete or extracts from larger works – are then performed as unrehearsed readings, which gives each small play an exciting edge. Many of the actors come from the excellent York Settlement Players, but any member of the audience can volunteer themselves if they want, just arrive a little early and meet in the foyer.
At the end of the evening, the members of the audience get the opportunity to vote on what they believe is the best play out of the five performed. As one of the pieces has been written by me, I especially hope that some of you will be able to come along and show your support. At only £5 it’s a bargain for an evening’s entertainment. If you know of anyone else who may be interested, please pass along the details.
Thanks.

Would this be a dress rehearsal of sort for that TV script You’ve been working on?
Don’t think I’ll be able to make it from sunny Poland in time, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed 😉 Good luck!
No, this script is something completely different. It’s a one-off piece with two actors that’s about fifteen minutes in length. The TV script has been sent to the BBC and I’m just waiting to hear back from them.
Thanks for the kind thoughts. One of the disadvantages of having an international set of friends is that most of them can’t just pop round to see things like this. 🙂
Script update: The TV comedy script came back from the BBC without them taking it on. 🙁
