Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso - CD version?

The online sales of the game appear to have dwindled somewhat. I know that people in some places were asking about a version on disk and I wondered how much interest there might be in this. If I could get some idea of the potential numbers I could gauge if it was something I could set out to do.

The idea would be to burn the game to CD (along with a few extras, perhaps) and print out the cover. I'd need to set up the payment side of things, too, of course.

Any takers?

I honestly don't think that most people would care much for a CD version.

Yes, a full blown retail version could be a hit, but not -- as I understand your idea -- a more or less homemade CD version, send by mail.

My suggestion would be to spread out the distribution on various online game sites. Unless, of cause, you have an exclusive deal with a publisher.

I believe there's a huge market for casual games -- especially regarding games that stand out like Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso -- people "just" need to be aware of it's existence :)

Thanks Kolzig.

Jannik, you could be right, which is why I'm running this excercise - to get a feel for the level of demand.

By many definitions of a casual game, Nutso doesn't fit. Some have described it as too hard for the casual audience.

I agree that people need to be made aware of its existence, but that's the hardest part.

Okay, I wasn't aware of that -- I've only tried the demo.

Was just thinking; maybe you could do a special edition of the game in few month, and make it available both as a download and as a CD version.

I have a lot of things going on at the same time. It's not that the individual puzzles and objectives are difficult, just that the player has to keep track of a number of them together.

I like the idea of a special edition, but I'm not sure I have the time for additional content in the game.
