New Interview
Earlier this week I was asked to do an interview with Gordon Aplin of the Quandary gaming site, which was most enjoyable. If we'd had the time available to us we could probably have covered a lot more ground than we did. For the full interview, please check the site here.

I just read the interview and had to come to your site and say that I really enjoyed it. Most of my all-time favorite games are adventure games but all of them are also about 10 years old... Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, Grim Fandango, Space Quest 3. They just don't make games like that anymore. You're right about how important good characters are and also that there is way too much emphasis on combat in games these days and not enough on good characters and writing. Great interview (I found a link to it on bluesnews.com).
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. I like these interviews that are conducted using MSN. There's plenty of time to think about the response but the interviewer has the ability to follow up on a particular train of thought. Often the e-mail interviews end up being very impersonal.
For me the characters are what drive my creativity in my games. With good characters I have a strong handle on where I'm going.
With all the characters you create you should think about developing an adventure.
Nice site!
