I’ve been so focussed on my various projects that I’ve been neglecting my blog somewhat, so this is an attempt to rectify that to a degree.<\/p>\n
It’s been just over a month since I announced Star Sweet and Honey Heart<\/strong> and considering the relatively short time-span it seems to be going well with awareness growing steadily. Not only is there a website<\/a> and a YouTube channel<\/a>, Star and Honey have a Facebook page<\/a> and can be found on Twitter<\/a>, for those who may be interested.\u00a0 I’m slowly building up the number of characters, as well as writing the next video, and have been adding some new products to the Star and Honey shop<\/a>.\u00a0 I’m hoping to announce a competition, too, in the next few days.\u00a0 If you are sceptical about such cute characters, show the video to a two year old and watch them watching it. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Of course, at the moment, the Star and Honey project is in the very early stages and so I still make a living by writing and designing games, which I’m still loving as much as ever.\u00a0 There have been a number of such projects taking place in recent months, some of which I can’t discuss at the moment (an adventure and a casual game) and others I’m able to talk about.<\/p>\n The Witcher 2 came out to great acclaim, which was great to see as I worked on the script editing of the English version.<\/p>\n Special Enquiry Detail: The Hand That Feeds, a casual detective game was brought out for the iPhone and iPad<\/a>.\u00a0 Although it originally came out for the PC and did very well, it has done better than I expected on the iPad and became the No.1 top grossing app in the UK shortly after release.\u00a0 It’s had some extremely good reviews, too, one of which can be found here<\/a>\u00a0– “Special Enquiry Detail: The Hand that Feeds is one of the best \u2018casual\u2019 games I have played recently \u2013 it brings together an interesting story and great gameplay in a package that draws in anyone who tries it.”<\/em><\/p>\n Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle<\/a> is due out next month and looks tremendous with tons of detail on every screen.\u00a0 This game is a spin-off from the So Blonde game and is actually set back in pirate times.\u00a0 It was great fun to write another game using many of the same characters but doing so from a new perspective and starting the process of Morgane’s journey towards becoming a pirate captain.\u00a0 There are plenty of comedic moments as well as a few touching ones.\u00a0 If you enjoyed So Blonde then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this game, too.<\/p>\n I attended Gamescom this year and had a great time as well as meeting some good people, both professionally and personally.\u00a0 There seemed to be a real positive buzz around the show this year, which was very different to the previous time I went two years ago.\u00a0 It was also a great opportunity to show off the Star and Honey video and get some feedback.\u00a0 I was really pleased with the positive and encouraging responses.\u00a0 I’m looking forward to attending next year and may get June to come along with me and spend a week in Cologne as a holiday.<\/p>\n Last week I popped down to London to give a talk to a number of Students, along with my friend Mark Estdale of OM<\/a>.\u00a0 The talk went down very well and one and a half hours went by in next to no time.\u00a0 We’re thinking of putting together a proposal for a conference talk and if it comes off I’ll let you know the details.<\/p>\n I have a feeling there was something else I wanted to cover but I can’t think what it was now.\u00a0 But that’s the beauty of a blog, I can always add it as a new entry when it comes to me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I’ve been so focussed on my various projects that I’ve been neglecting my blog somewhat, so this is an attempt to rectify that to a degree.
