I was reading this post, “You should blog every day”<\/a> over at the Bubble Cow blog, which got me thinking about my own posting schedule – a hit and miss affair even at the best of times.\u00a0 Should I consider posting every day or is that idea a potential hazard?<\/p>\n

While posting every day would be a wonderful thing to do, I’d be concerned that quantity would dominate over quality.\u00a0 For instance, my “rules for game writing” post might have been considered in a different light and perhaps I would have been tempted to spread the posting of the rules over ten days in order to ensure that I posted so regularly.\u00a0 Therefore, instead of a single, reasonably together piece, it would then come over as disjointed and more than likely frustrate any readers who might otherwise have found it of some interest.<\/p>\n

Usually, when I post it’s because I want to share\u00a0information\u00a0and insights\u00a0or make a comment about something that’s caught my interest.\u00a0 I don’t want to have to go searching for things to write about just to fill a post.\u00a0 I’ll probably end up posting about the toast I had for breakfast or doing the washing up.\u00a0 I may well be wrong, but I suspect that this kind of detail will become uninteresting very quickly.<\/p>\n
