{"id":601,"date":"2010-02-12T10:26:35","date_gmt":"2010-02-12T10:26:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/?p=601"},"modified":"2010-02-12T10:26:35","modified_gmt":"2010-02-12T10:26:35","slug":"the-lost-game-edited-scene","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/2010\/02\/12\/the-lost-game-edited-scene\/","title":{"rendered":"The Lost Game &#8211; edited scene"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/?p=592\">previous post<\/a> about this &#8220;lost game&#8221; with the scene between Emily and Crawford was lifted directly from the original scripts.\u00a0 Because the development was cut short, I never had the chance to do a final editing and polishing pass over the whole game.\u00a0 Here is the same scene given the editing treatment.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a lot tighter and makes use of the visuals much more.<\/p>\n<p>____________<\/p>\n<p>Crawford appears behind the glass of the observation window and looks at Emily who is still on the operating table.<\/p>\n<p>Crawford:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do what I say or your life won\u2019t be worth living.<\/p>\n<p>Emily stares at Crawford with cold hatred in her eyes.\u00a0 She turns and picks up one of the scalpels from a nearby trolley table then holds it up to catch the light, making sure that Crawford sees it.\u00a0 Crawford touches the glass of the observation window nervously.<\/p>\n<p>Emily:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What would happen if I opened up the wound?<br \/>\nCrawford:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You wouldn\u2019t&#8230;<br \/>\nEmily:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Listen up, you bitch.\u00a0 Let us go free if you want these embryos to survive.<br \/>\nCrawford:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We\u2019re like sisters now you\u2019re carrying my children.\u00a0 Stay here \u2013 we\u2019ll raise them together.<br \/>\nEmily:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I don\u2019t want these vile creatures inside of me.\u00a0 I won\u2019t give birth to your monster brood!<\/p>\n<p>Crawford leans forward, her face almost touching the glass of the window.\u00a0 Her eyes fix on Emily and she grins, evilly.<\/p>\n<p>Crawford:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So that\u2019s how you see Jacob \u2013 a vile creature.\u00a0 A monster!<br \/>\nEmily:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8230; you\u2019re twisting&#8230;<br \/>\nCrawford:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He and I are the same.\u00a0 We both have the Innsmouth Taint!<br \/>\nEmily:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Then we, and Emily, see that Jacob is standing in the shadows behind Crawford.\u00a0 It\u2019s unclear how long he\u2019s been there, but from the look on his face he\u2019s heard plenty.<\/p>\n<p>________________<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The previous post about this &#8220;lost game&#8221; with the scene between Emily and Crawford was lifted directly from the original scripts.
