{"id":1346,"date":"2014-06-10T14:55:16","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T14:55:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1346"},"modified":"2014-06-10T14:55:16","modified_gmt":"2014-06-10T14:55:16","slug":"kaptain-brawe-2-on-kickstarter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/06\/10\/kaptain-brawe-2-on-kickstarter\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaptain Brawe 2 on Kickstarter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been a bit remiss. \u00a0Because I&#8217;ve been trying to post a lot on Twitter, Facebook and other places, I neglected to post anything here.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t already know, I&#8217;m involved in a Kickstarter for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/674951857\/kaptain-brawe-2-a-space-travesty-a-steve-ince-stor\">Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty<\/a>. \u00a0Please check it out if you haven&#8217;t already. \u00a0Please consider pledging or at least help spreading the word if it&#8217;s not a game for you.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/?attachment_id=1347\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1347\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1347\" alt=\"9cb2ab990c8dc1f1cc5ff8fbf5f9b3f9_large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/9cb2ab990c8dc1f1cc5ff8fbf5f9b3f9_large.png\" width=\"700\" height=\"438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/9cb2ab990c8dc1f1cc5ff8fbf5f9b3f9_large.png 700w, https:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/9cb2ab990c8dc1f1cc5ff8fbf5f9b3f9_large-150x93.png 150w, https:\/\/www.steve-ince.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/9cb2ab990c8dc1f1cc5ff8fbf5f9b3f9_large-300x187.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This has the potential to be a truly fantastic project. \u00a0Not only does it fit with my sense of humour perfectly (as illustrated by my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/674951857\/kaptain-brawe-2-a-space-travesty-a-steve-ince-stor\/posts\/869408\">FREE short story<\/a>), Cateia Games is a solid group of developers with lots of experience.<\/p>\n<p>And if that wasn&#8217;t enough, they&#8217;ve also brought on board <strong>Bill Tiller<\/strong>, a superb artist whose work graced the excellent game, <strong>The Curse of Monkey Island<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Now is that fantastic or what?<\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;ve heard it said that some people think the goal is steep, I am firmly of the opinion that you get what you pay for.<\/p>\n<p>It is our intention to make this game the best we possibly can and under that proviso I think the goal is not unreasonable. \u00a0In fact, I think it&#8217;s a bargain of development. \u00a0When you look back eight years to when I started work on So Blonde, the budget for that game was roughly three times what the Cateia Games guys are asking.\u00a0 Even without inflation I think you must agree that this represents incredibly good value for the project we intend to deliver, especially as English voices will be integral to the game.<\/p>\n<p>I hope some of you will be able to see your way clear to supporting the game.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been a bit remiss. \u00a0Because I&#8217;ve been trying to post a lot on Twitter, Facebook and other places, I neglected to post anything here.
