Excellent Feature on the Game

Kim Wild has written an excellent feature on Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso over at Adventure Gamers. It's not a review in their classification because it's not a "pure" adventure, but it's incredibly positive and gets to the heart of what the game is about.

"Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso is a genuinely lighthearted, entertaining arcade-adventure brimming with personality and easy to play without being a walkover."

So true, so true...

This made me laugh so much.
Thanks to Ron Gilbert for pointing me at this via his Grumpy Gamer blog.

New Hints Page

I've set up a hints page for those players who may get stuck in the game. There's nothing worse than not being able to progress and getting frustrated by this. At the risk of putting immediate temptation in your way, you can get to the hints page here.

More MCV kindness

Those nice peeps over at MCV magazine have given the game another nice little plug. I wrote and thanked them for their mention of Nutso in last week's edition and they printed the letter, along with pictures of Mr. Smoozles and Ed. Cool or what?! :)

Free Music Download

Josh Winiberg, the composer of the excellent music in Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso, has created high quality versions of three of the tracks from the game. One of these can be downloaded from the Nutso Download Page with the other two available at Josh's MySpace page.

Josh is hoping to put together an album of all the music from the game and release it as a CD. Watch out for further news on this.

Anyone who likes beautiful piano music should check out his two already released CD albums.

Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso - A Four Star Game

The first review of Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso is in and it's a beauty. Gordon Aplin, over at Quandary, gave the game FOUR STARS! in his excellent review.

Reading the review was a real pleasure as he picked up on everything in the manner I'd hoped, which I always take as a good sign that the designer-player partnership is meshing well. Because of the game's nature and the climate it's released into, I never thought of it as a five star, ten-out-of-ten game, so to get four stars means the game has acheived the top marks of what I expected.

Consider me EXTREMELY pleased. :)

MCV goes Nutso

Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso got an excellent mention in this week's MCV, one of the top games industry magazines in the UK. To quote:

"Smoozing the industry
They'll offer you hi-def graphics, cinematic character development and even motion sensor gameplay, but we'll wager no publisher will come close to bettering our favourite game name of the year: Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso. If the Juniper Games title is as zany as it sounds, we can't wait to get our hands on it."
