Competition - Writing for Video Games book
Writers News is running an online competition with my book, Writing for Video Games as the prize. If you haven't yet bought it and would like the chance of winning a free copy, hurry over to the site and take part. The draw for the competition winner takes place on 15th April. Good luck!

Hi, we’re the providers of the software program Video Game Design Pro which helps game designers create and manage their Video Game Design documents.
I was specifically emailing you because I think that your blog, and its readers, would be interested in learning about a solution like ours and its benefits on the game design and development community.
If you could please tell your readers about it, bundle a trial with your upcoming book, ask them to offer suggestions for improvement, or just simply link to our site so they could download a trial, it would be enormously appreciated because your blog seems to be extremely popular and it holds a lot of sway within the game development community.
Before heading directly to our site to learn more about VGDP, why don’t you check out this funny “commercial” that we put together. It’s actually a nice (30 second) introduction to our program and concludes with a link to our site. http://www.thecorpament.com/Super%20Failure.htm
I look forward to hearing back from you, thanks!
Thanks for posting this - I'm always interested in finding out about good tools software.
While your "commercial" was mildly funny, using VGDP would not have improved the design. Only good ideas implemented well would have improved the design and I presume that your software does not have a button that creates these good ideas.
Also, on your website, you make the claim: "7. Refines Game Designs. Turn average game designs into award-winning game designs by using our program to increase the comprehensiveness, organization, and professionalism of your gameplay and designs." This is nonsense. Good tools software does not increase creativity. If Microsoft claimed that everyone could be a great novelist if they used MS Word they'd be ridiculed.
The only things that create better game designs are good game designers. Now, your tool may make that process easier or help manage it in a better way and may be more than worthwhile because of that, but I don't think you should be making claims about improved creativity.
